This was announced by the Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksyonov during a meeting led by Vladimir Putin on the socio-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. Over the past year, the number of investment agreements concluded has increased by 1.5 times, and the volume of declared investment has increased by 10 times. In just 8 years, 1 trillion 225 billion rubles of investment in fixed assets have been invested in the Crimean economy. More than half of the total amount (701 billion rubles) is made up of extra-budgetary investment. In 2021, over 108 billion rubles of private investment were attracted. According to the results announced at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June 2021, the Republic of Crimea has increased its position in the National Rating of the investment climate, rising from 43rd to 11th place. For 8 years, the number of business entities – legal entities has increased by 2 times (up to 31 thousand), individual entrepreneurs – by 3 times (up to 65 thousand). More than 40 thousand self-employed citizens have been registered. The number of employees employed in the SME sector has increased 1.2 times in the last 5 years alone (from 138.5 to 164 thousand people). Such results have been achieved thanks to the established business support institutions. Among them are the Crimea Development Corporation, the Entrepreneurship Microfinance Fund, the Crimean Guarantee Fund, a Regional Leasing Company, and the Crimean Entrepreneurship Support Fund.
