The economy of Crimea is developing dynamically and will enter the pre-pandemic period by the end of 2021 - Dmitry Sheryako

In the Republic of Crimea, the dynamics of macroeconomic indicators demonstrates the growth of economic recovery after the active phase of the pandemic of the new coronavirus.
The Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Crimea Dmitry Sheryako announced that at a meeting of the board of the Ministry, informing about the results of socio-economic development of the republic in January-September 2021.


"The activation of economic processes ensured the growth of own income by 31.5%, in total, RUB 55 billion were received by the budget. The plan is fulfilled by 107.2%.

As a result, by the end of 2021, the gross regional product (GRP) is projected to grow by 6.4%, which indicates the full recovery of the republic's economy and its reaching the pre-crisis level of 2019," Dmitry Sheryako said.

According to him, the volume of housing construction is increasing.
For 9 months of 2021, 191 thousand square meters of multi-apartment housing were commissioned – this is 1.6 times more than in the pre-pandemic period.

The turnover of organizations based on the results of commercial activities in January-September 2021 increased by 15.9% and exceeded RUB 606.5 billion.

The volume of industrial production increased by 8.3%, which is 3.6 percentage points more than the average for the Russian Federation (for the Russian Federation - 4.7%). Agricultural production increased by 18.6% in the first 9 months of this year, including crop production increased by 37.6%.

Crimean farmers have harvested almost 1.5 million tons of grain crops, which is 61% more than last year. The harvest of fruit and berry products increased by 37% and amounted to 58 thousand tons.

"The dynamics of the macroeconomic indicators of the development of the Republic of Crimea demonstrates that the recovery of all industries and spheres is proceeding at a faster pace," Dmitry Sheryako stressed.

According to the minister, 2021 was a record year for Crimea in terms of the number of tourists arriving on vacation. For 9 months of this year, the tourist flow to Crimea exceeded the figures of 2019 by 25%, reaching 8.3 million people.

Tax revenues to the budget from the tourism industry amounted to almost RUB 3.6 billion, which is 1.6 times more than the amount of tax revenues for the same period in 2020 and 1.4 times higher than in 2019.

Retail trade turnover for 9 months of 2021 increased by 5.5% (by 3.6% compared to 2019) and amounted to RUB 231 billion.The spheres of public catering and paid services to the population have been fully restored. In comparison with 2019, industry indicators increased by 34.3% and 21.6%, respectively.
