According to the Press Service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Crimea, almost 4 200 tons of tomatoes were harvested in the first quarter of 2020 since the launch of the «Belogorsky» greenhouse investment project.
The amount of declared investment in the project for the construction of the «Belogorsky» greenhouse complex amounted to 3.9 billion rubles.
After the complex reaches its full capacity, about 400 people will be employed there.
Experts note that if the dynamics of growth in the production of indoor vegetables in Russia continues, then in the next five to six years, the country will be able to replace all their imports at the expense of its own production.
